Situation

A client was accused of plagiarizing an obscure document published on the internet, but the date of his document's publication was unclear. Was our client copying this paper? Or, as our client maitained, did this paper copy our client with a backdated publication date? 

Strategy

We analyzed the internet publication and determined that its metadata had been removed. We also determined that copies of the paper from internet archives prior to the year in which our client's paper was published were unavailable. 

Results

These, and other facts which were helpful to our client, were submitted in an affidavit in support of our client's defense.
